The Journal of Civil Engineering (JCE) manuscripts must be within the area of interest of Civil Engineering and further the knowledge in concrete materials, design, and construction; be original in authorship and publication; be based on adequate factual record; and be significant in data or treatment. Reviewers will evaluate the suitability of the manuscript for publication and state justification for publication. The language of publication is either English or Indonesian and the manuscript must be understandable and correct in spelling, grammar, and punctuation. For authors who write their manuscript in Indonesian and wish to publish the manuscript in the Journal of Civil Engineering should also include their abstract and keywords in English (minimum and maximum keywords at five and nine words, respectively).
When arranging the manuscript, please follow the guidelines below:
It is expected that the submitted manuscript has been 'spell checked' and 'grammar checked', also submitted manuscript should be free from plagiarism
All references mentioned in the Reference List are cited in the text, and vice versa. It is expected that reference software such as Mendeley/Endnote to be used when citing references.
Permission has been obtained for use of copyrighted material from other sources (including the Internet)
In the first section, paper should include a title, author names, affiliation, email address and an abstract summarizing the paper content for at least 150 words but no more than 250 words, and 3 – 6 keywords.
The abstract must contain a short description of the paper which briefly summarizes the key information of the paper including background, objective, method, results, and conclusions.
The introduction should explain the background of the study, the state of the art and importance of the research, any possible gap analysis, and the main objective of the research. In general, one or two paragraphs explain the necessities of the study being carried out as the background information.
The literature review should highlight the state of the art of the research and clearly explains the possible gap analysis on existing research. Excessive citations without detailed explanations of the importance of existing studies and their connection with the present study should be avoided.
There should be Research Significance section that inform the research significance of carried out in this study. The research significance highlights the unique contribution of the research to the existing knowledge.
The methodology section should concisely describe the method to solve the research question including how the research is being carried out, a detailed sequence of experimental work, and how the results are being interpreted or compared with existing studies (if any)
The result should explain the finding of the research carried out only in this study. The presentation of the resulting data can be shown as tables, charts, graphs, or written in sentences. The data shown in tables, charts, or graphs should be well explained in the sentences
The conclusion should be written in maximum three paragraphs. The use of list or bulleted conclusions is permitted but limited to only three lists.
Any mathematical formulation should be numbered and using the built-in formula editor in Microsoft Word or using Math Type.
Figures and Tables can be presented in one-half page width or full-page width. These Figures and Tables should be cited in the text and explained in detail. Tables and Figures should be numbered.
The manuscript should be typed in Microsoft Word, using 10 point-Times New Roman-font. The paper has 1.0 spacing and written in a double column.
The authors may place their acknowledgments, please only write essential acknowledgments such as funding.
Every reference must be cited in the text. It is not permitted to write citations without citing them in the text. The reference style should be written in IEEE style. The references must use reference software such as Mendeley or EndNote. Example of citing the reference in the text: “In this paper, a nonlinear sectional fiber-based model analysis using MatLab is used [12].

Focus and Scope
The Journal of Civil Engineering (JCE) publish scientific article which is specific for civil engineering. JCE article must be written either in Indonesian or English languages. The focus and scope of the journal are:
How many reviewers are assigned? At minimum, two reviewer will be assigned for each article.
How does the review process run? The review process is carried out using single blind review. The reviewer will appear anonymous while the authors name will be available for the reviewer.
Reviewer Reports: Reviewers will be asked to examine the submitted manuscript such that:
The manuscript is original
The manuscript has been written in a coherent research methodology
The manuscript follows the appropriate ethical guidelines
The manuscript provides the results in a clear manner and the conclusions are written in concise form
The manuscript provides references which are relevant to the work carried out by the author
It is expected that the submitted manuscript already has enough written language. Therefore, inside the peer review process, the reviewer will not correct on how the style of manuscript is written but will focus on the content of the manuscript. However, the reviewer may suggest corrections to the manuscript if the reviewer wish to do it.
How long does the review process take? Review process in the Journal of Civil Engineering takes approximately four weeks. Faster review process less that four weeks may be possible and is dependent on the reviewer responses. At least two reviewers will be assigned for each manuscript. However, if the reviewers report contradicts one another, additional reviewers will be added. In cases where it is difficult to find the second reviewer and the first reviewer report has proven to be complete and has convinced the editor, the decision could be made by the editor by solely considering the report from the first reviewer. The author will be notified by email about the Editor’s decision based on the recommendations made by the reviewers. In the reviewer’s reports, any recommendations and verbatim comments should be considered by the author. There is possibility that the revised manuscript that has been resubmitted to be returned to the initial reviewers which then again there is possibility for further request for another revision of the resubmitted revised version of the manuscript.
Final report: The final report which contains a final decision either to accept, revised or reject the manuscript will be sent to the author by email. In case there is a revision status required, the author is strongly recommended to revise the manuscript based on recommendations from the reviewers.
Editor’s Decision is absolute and final: In Journal of Civil Engineering, the reviewer will advise the editor on the quality of the submitted manuscript. The final decision to either accept, revised or reject the article is based on the Editor’s decision by considering the advice from the reviewer.
Becoming a reviewer for Journal of Civil Engineering: If at present you are not a reviewer of Journal of Civil Engineering and you would like to be considered as a reviewer, please contact the editor in chief. One of the benefits of becoming the Journal of Civil Engineering reviewer is to enable the opportunity to evaluate the latest work in your area of expertise earlier. In addition, you can directly contribute to improve the integrity and quality of the submitted manuscript which will be more useful for your research work community.
Publication Frequency
Journal of Civil Engineering publish two issue in a year. For each issue, at minimum, five articles will be published. The first issue will be published on May/June while the second issue will be published on November/December.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Archiving
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
Article Processing Charges
