Abstract
The existence of Ampel has been reinforced by the discovery of the spatial value of the area. The power religious values has made. Ampel area a center of religion propagation which is influential locally, regionally nationally, and even internationally. Its historical value will play an important role in changing Ampel area into an active cultural reserve (not a passive and static one). The socio-cultural value developing within the Ampel society can be a model for other societies in Surabaya to build and hamess the strength of togetherness, whereas its economic spatial value may strengthen the role of trade locally regionally, and nationally. The spatial value of Ampel area as a whole mirrors the development of the entire society. The existence and development of Ampel are inherent in the development of Surabaya from time to time, both physically and economically. By finding the determining factors of the concept of spatial value, the method can then be structurally used to view the spatial value of other areas.
