Author Guidelines

IPTEK journal publishes original articles on aspects of technology and science disciplines which relevant to industries and communities in developing countries. Articles are considered for publication with the condition that they have not been published or submitted for publication by other publishers.

Manuscript. The Editorial Board will decide whether a manuscript will be reviewed by reviewers with the criteria of originality, significance, quality, and accuracy. Editorial board authorized to accept, reject, or suggest the authors improve manuscripts.

Since Vol. 3 (2022), we improved the layout of the articles with the one-column layout. The new design is meant to improve the readability of the published articles and to give a better experience for our readers, especially those who use a digital viewer. The use of a word processor's styles and layout-editing for manuscript preparation should be kept a minimum to allow the authors to focus on the content and readability of the manuscript.

Therefore, for the reviewing process, the author should submit the manuscript based on the following ms. Word template (2021 version) . Authors may also prepare a pdf version of the manuscript using tex processor based on the following PPI-V3-2021 class. You can also download the complete LaTeX package (includes examples).

The camera-ready. all accepted manuscripts will go through copy-editing and layout-editing. Our editing team will prepare the camera-ready version using tex processor. The camera-ready version will be sent to the authors before being published.

Revision. The manuscript suggested to be revised has to be sent to the author along with the suggestion of the reviewer. However, the author can provide rebuttal comments or suggestions.

Language. All manuscripts should be written in English.

Author’s Data, Author's full name (no abbreviation), and author's affiliations (unit, institution, city, and country). For the correspondence author, please add the phone, fax number, and postal address.

Abstract, concise description (not more than 200 words) of the background of the problem, proposed method or the solution and results required. Keywords (not more than 6) should be provided below the abstract. The keywords should be written in title-case and alphabetically ordered.

Formation. For ms. Word file, the manuscript must be typed in single space, 11pt by using A4 paper (210 mm x 297 mm) with left margin 2.5 cm and right margin-top and down 1.69 cm. All paragraphs should not contain indention. Greece symbol has to be original like β (beta), γ (gamma) and etc. The chemical notation has to go with the standard rules, such as BaTiO3 and Mg(OH)2.

The equality, If you write an original research paper, the main body of the paper should be numbered in consecutive order as follow: 1. Introduction, 2. Previous Researches or Related Works, 3. Material and Method, 4. Result and Discussion, 5. Conclusion, Acknowledgment, CRediT, and References. You may present the discussion (analysis) as a separate section. The Acknowledgment section is optional.

If you write a review paper, the main body of the paper should be numbered in consecutive order as follow: 1. Introduction, 2. Related/Previous Work, 3. Research Method, 4. Findings, 5. Discussion, 6. Conclusion, Acknowledgment, and References. The Research Method section should describe (and not limited to) review objectives and research questions, search strategy and criteria, data collection and selection, and methodological quality assessment. The Acknowledgment section is optional.

The introduction section should provide a concise yet complete background of the problem being studied. What is the object of the research? Why it is important. It is important for the author to provide a clear research gap that his study wanted to fill. A clear statement related to the novelty of the study is required.

The manuscript should provide information related to previous researches or related works. This section describes the state of the art solution of a given problem. This section should also contain the research gap of the study with respect to the previous researches or works. It highlights the importance, novelty, and contribution of the study being proposed.

The method (and material) section should provide a detailed description of the method or solution proposed within the study. The originality of the study should be the author's concerned.

The result and discussion section should contain pre-processed data from the proposed method/solution execution. The data can be shown in tables or figures to enable empirical proof of the method/solution. The author may split this section into a result section and discussion (or analysis) section if necessary. The author should emphasize and highlight and interesting results and findings. 

The conclusion section should contain remarks on the result of the study. It also indicates future works.

All pages should be numbered consecutively no less than 8 pages and not more than 20 pages. Tables and Figures should be titled and numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals. For ms.Word file, please place figures and tables on separate sheets at the end of the manuscript. For review purposes, the title of the table or figure is arranged on top of the table or figure. Line art should be submitted in black ink or laser printing, halftone and color should be original and glossy art.

Author Contributions. All published articles should include contribution statements in the work that specifies the contribution of every author in order to promote transparency. These contributions should be listed as a separate section within the article. The section should be labeled as "CRediT". Some examples are provided as follow:

• All authors contributed to the study conception and material preparation. Study design, data collection, and analysis were performed by [full name], [full name] and [full name]. The outlining and initial draft of the manuscript was done by [full name]. All authors read and approved the final manuscript.

• Conceptualization: [full name], …; Methodology: [full name], …; Formal analysis and investigation: [full name], …; Writing - original draft preparation: [full name, …]; Writing - review and editing: [full name], …; Funding acquisition: [full name], …; Resources: [full name], …; Supervision: [full name],….

References. For the reviewing process, the author may use any referencing style.. If you prepare your manuscript using ms. Word, please use referencing manager tools, such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero, in order to maintain consistency.

For the camera-ready version, the author will be asked to provide a valid BibTeX file of the complete reference sources cited in the article. Please make sure that all bibliography sources are complete and accurate. You may refer to CTAN manuals before preparing your BibTeX file. The following is citation examples using the IEEE format.
